If You Promote E-Cigarettes – Read This
It’s no secret that e-cigarette ads are popping up all over the place. I was reading through Consumerist.com and saw an article asking “Would You Smoke e-Cigarettes.” For those of you who promote this newest craze, reading through the comments on that post may give you insight into what people think of them and better ways to sell (or not sell) them. Although I don’t personally promote e-cigarettes at all, I always find it interesting to get into the mind of the user who would actually use products that affiliates promote.

Real Cigarettes are more dangerous. I’ve never smoked anything and never will. that’s my answer..
def can grab some content to split test a few blogs there. I thought the comment about the iCig from Apple was pretty classic.

I am a firm believer that one should use whatever product before promoting it to the readers. However, it cannot be the case with all the people & it shows in the content eventually.
Other aspects that need to be considered are that :
1. Is it relevant to your niche?
2. Is it suitable to your image & reputation?
3. Have you ever gone out of your subject zone & done such promotion?
The point here is really to use the info from the people who have used or would use the product to craft your selling points. The selling points YOU think are important are not as important as the ones the actual user finds to be important. This is a glimpse inside their minds.
E-cigarettes is a start, but I’m still hoping for a genuine rebill that tackles the problem directly rather than providing a replacement. There must be something in the Amazonian rain forest they can use!
That said, I think the attitude to smoking is incredibly different in the United States to how it is in the UK. Complete opposite ends of the scale.
@finch – I saw a stop smoking product on Copeac the other day….it was sort of weird though because it was called some sort of stop smoking water.
we use to market a true stop smoking product a few years back to one of our targeted email lists. I can dig it up when I get back in the office and see if they are still kicking Finch. It wasn’t a rebill though.
One of the newest and most successful ways to quit smoking is to use an E-Cigarette. While e-cigarettes are not perfect it is hard to argue that they are not a better alternative and you will not be inhaling 4000 known chemicals.
Electronic cigarettes are positioned to be a big hit this holiday season e-cigarettes are a very unique gift for any smoker because of all the benefits. They are a Healthier, Cheaper and more Sociably Acceptable alternative to tobacco cigarettes.
While e-cigarettes are not perfect it is hard to argue that they are not a better alternative to tobacco.
